What is Sund folk high school

Who are we?

Sund folk high school is an independent school. This means that we have a humanistic view of people and emphasize democratic values. People are at the center of everything and are entitled to be treated with respect and tolerance for who they are.

There are three things in particular that we are passionate about and want to share with you:

International solidarity
Environment and sustainable development
The value of art and cultural expressions

Regardless of which course you choose, these three areas permeate both teaching and daily life at the school. You'll learn about the important issues of our time and have experiences that will last a lifetime.

Not just words, but action

The vast majority our programs go on extended study trips. These trips, together with the rest of the school program, will give you a new understanding of the world we live in and cultural encounters you only hear about elsewhere. As a student at Sund folk high school , you live in the midst of a complex and amazing world. This gives you a unique insight into both yourself and other people.

For us, international solidarity is not something we talk about; it's something we put into practice. Sustainable development is not a buzzword, but a commitment that has consequences. Art, music and literature are not something people dress up with, but a living part of everyday life.

Sund folk high school located in Inderøy municipality in Trøndelag. The school is a short distance from Straumen, the center of Inderøy , which has most of what you need for everyday life, including shops, pharmacies, libraries, etc. There are also second-hand shops, cozy cafes, and cultural centers.

Exceptionally beautiful

The light and the sunsets. The Trondheim Fjord. The view from the fireplace room and dining room. Our surroundings and location are magical at times. In the garden we have apple trees and space for your hammock.

Sund folk high school is exceptionally beautifully located at the very bottom of the Trondheimsfjord. The view of the fjord, mountains and a big sky does something to those of us at Sund. Perhaps both students and staff will be a little happier by living with such a view every day?

The golden detour

Inderøy is known as the Golden Detour . It has become a tourist attraction in Trøndelag, and is a collaboration between several artists, small-scale food producers, restaurants and other attractions. It is beautiful on Inderøy , and many think it's a good idea to call it "Norway's Tuscany".
