Boarding and facilities
Sund folk high school is a boarding school. All students live at the school. The school is the students' home during the school year, and we emphasize that it should be good to live at Sund folk high school .
Boarding school and rooms
The boarding school is spread over three buildings (Veum, Li and Hov) on the school campus. The rooms vary slightly in size and design. All rooms have a bed, wardrobe, bookcase, desk and sink. We have 24 single rooms and 38 double rooms. There is a toilet and shower in each corridor.
You can, of course, decorate your room yourself with pictures, cushions and anything else you think is nice to have around. If you bring more than there's room for in the wardrobe, there's plenty of storage space in the basement. There are also washing machines and drying facilities in the basement.
Social environment in the corridor
It's great to live in a boarding school! The students who live in the same corridor have a great sense of togetherness, and every Friday they organize Heimekveld - an entertaining evening for the whole school. Every week, there are also corridor meetings where small and large issues are discussed.
But the best thing about living in a boarding school is that it's so close to where you'll be visiting your friends. It's simply a great way to socialize, while at the same time you can retreat to your room whenever you feel the need.
Single room or double room?
Sharing a room may be unfamiliar at first, but after a while you'll appreciate the community and the joy it gives you. It's nice and pleasant to live with someone.
You can choose whether you want to stay in a single or double room. When you apply for a place at the school, check whether you want to stay in a single or double room. Staying in a single room costs a little extra.
At the folk high school, the boarding house is both a place to live and a learning arena. That's why we recommend that all students stay at the school.

Easy to stay in good shape
As a learner at Sund , it's easy to stay in good shape. Just put on your workout clothes and get started.
Gym and weight room
The gym is frequently used for volleyball, football, dodgeball and other activities. The strength room is newly refurbished and has everything you need from weights, kettlebells, rowing machines, slings, treadmills, step machines, etc. We use the rooms both in lessons and the students have access in their free time.
Outdoor areas
Outdoor activities are also popular at Sund. We have our own soccer field and start the year with an informal soccer match. If you like to run, just lace up your sneakers and go for a run, there are great training opportunities right outside the door. Lillerunden and storerunden are great for both walks and runs.
In the fall and spring, we use the beautiful sand volleyball facility at Sundsand, which is our local sandy beach.
Sund is located right by the Trondheimsfjord. This is perfect for both morning swims for the brave and kayaking. We offer kayaking as an elective and we have equipment you can borrow.
On Inderøy It is also possible to ski at Petter Northug Stadium, and we run a bus to Grong Ski Center. to do slalom skiing. We hope for a nice snowy winter!
