Here we introduce our employees:
Anders has a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to the environment. He has broad international experience from traveling and living in Latin America. It's never difficult to know what Anders thinks about things, and he's happy to share his thoughts on everything that's important to do something about in the world.
Our teacher has 6 years of education in the subject from England and Norway and has run her own photography business for years. Janne works with her own work (see jannesvit.com) in addition to teaching and has held courses and workshops at vocational schools and for the private sector in addition to working at Sund. Janne is passionate about the subject!
Mona Krogstad is a saxophonist and composer from Trondheim, educated at the Jazzlinja at NTNU and the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. She is known from bands such as JUNO, Superspreder, Skjæbnen and the Mona Krogstad Quartet.
Mona is an active voice in cultural life – she works as a producer for Trøndelag 2Big Band, is the upcoming festival director for Soddjazz, and tours actively as a freelance musician. Mona believes that music is one of the most beautiful forms of communication – and it shows!
Ola Høyer is a bassist and composer from Bergen with education from the Jazzlinja at NTNU and the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. Ola is a sought-after and active musician known from bands such as Cortex , Moon Relay and Telehiv and tours actively as a freelance musician.
Ola is an active and committed teacher and enjoys talking about politics, philosophy and art!
Maren Resell Sørheim is a jazz vocalist, composer and educator, with a background in performing studies at the jazz department in Stavanger, cultural entrepreneurship from the Norwegian Academy of Music, and pedagogy from NTNU.
In addition to teaching at Sund She freelances with various performing projects as a vocalist, songwriter, composer and arranger. Among other things, she works with “Det Annet Kjønn - kollektiv”, an ensemble that elevates and promotes female and non-binary musicians and composers within jazz. Maren is a curious and creative performer who enjoys exploring related genres to jazz and improvisation, working with text, and actively using electronics and secondary instruments together with her voice.
Sissel Vera Pettersen is a jazz vocalist and saxophonist. She also actively uses electronics as a musician.
Sissel Vera has been the leader of Trondheim Voices for a number of years. She is artistically responsible for the highly respected Soddjazz festival, and she often plays in the Trondheim jazz orchestra.
Sissel Vera Pettersen has a background in jazz at NTNU, and she has worked as a musician in Copenhagen for many years. In addition to this, she is a skilled visual artist, and she is kind and positive!
Øystein Viem is a teacher on the course Historical handicraft , and also works as a museum craftsman and mediator at Stiklestad . He is committed and knowledgeable to the max, and an exceptionally versatile craftsman who does everything from knife making to fish skin tanning. He is also a pleasant person from Trøndelag, who has a freezer full of run-over animals for future tanning.
Kristin is a line teacher at Historical handicraft . She has worked at Sund for many years, and has herself been a student at the school. She ensures that the craft students get on well at Sundbobla. To weave is to live, says Kristin. Who is also very fond of recycling, gardening, embroidery and leather sewing.
Jakob has worked as a junior expert for FAO in Cambodia and at the head office in Rome. He has extensive experience of study trips to many different countries. In addition to a keen interest in international issues and politics, he is passionate about exercise and outdoor life, and is a ski and kayak instructor.
Øyvind Skarbø er trommeslager med utdannelse fra Griegakademiet i Bergen.
Øyvind er blant annet kjent fra bandene Skarbø Skuleorkester og Telehiv. Øyvind er kjent som en av de mest spennende trommeslagerne i landet, og vi er veldig glade for å ha Øyvind med på Sund folkehøgskole.
Amund Storløkken Åse er musiker, komponist og pedagog med base i Trondheim. Amund jobber som freelance-musiker i mange ulike prosjekter, blant annet I Like to Sleep, med artist Sara Fjeldvær og Amund Åse Kvartett. Amund har undervist privat i plankemetode, samt holdt ulike workshops med trioen I Like to Sleep innenfor samme gehørsbaserte utgangspunkt.
Amund spiller vibrafon, og regnes som en av dyktigste jazzmusikerne i landet på sitt instrument.
Petter Dalane er pianist og komponist, utdannet ved Jazzlinja NTNU og mottaker av NTNU Ambassadør-prisen i 2023. Han er kjent fra prosjekter som Cosmic Swing Orchestra, Get Your Goat og konsertserien Petters Jazzjam.
Astrid loves jazz, organic farming and has a flair for languages. She has previously worked as a journalist and editor at NRK for a number of years. She has a degree in political science, journalism and education. Astrid is also a member of NORDEM and occasionally works as an election observer abroad. She's now back at Sund, after a year as principal at Svalbard folk high school.
Eirik Stensland is a down-to-earth northerner from Hamarøy in Nordland. He has a background in elementary school, cultural school and upper secondary school. Eirik is passionate about giving our pupils a good education and ensuring that they experience mastery and personal development. He is an avid singer and musician at a hobby level, and enjoys being part of the school's social life.
