More about the course

Tell a story – make a difference!

Learn the tools

In a world dominated by social media, mastering video and mobile journalism is essential. It's visual, it's fast - and it's what grabs people's attention! In this line, you'll get the tools you need to create and share news that actually reaches.

From idea to finished news story – you will learn to film, edit and publish with both mobile and professional equipment. The practical focus gives you valuable experience and can open doors in the media and communications industry.

Basic principles of journalism

You will develop storytelling and digital production skills. You will gain a solid understanding of the fundamental principles of journalism, ethics, and source criticism – more important than ever in today's media landscape.

Study tour

We are going on a study trip to Bethlehem and the West Bank, possibly also several countries in the region. On the trip we will meet people and experiences, and learn to communicate what we observe in a professional, factual and meaningful way. The school collaborates with the University of Bethlehem, and we will meet students and professionals in relevant fields there.

Tariq Alisubh
Teacher

Tariq Alisubh , born in Bethlehem in 1974, is a Palestinian-Norwegian journalist. He started as a reporter in Palestine before moving to Norway in 2001. He now works for NRK and has produced content for news, "Norge Rundt" and "Brennpunkt". With a master's degree in journalism, he also teaches internationally. Tariq stands strong as a voice for truth and good stories.

The unique thing about folk high school is that you can learn about what you like - because you want to! We organized the teaching according to what we wanted to learn about. In the breaks, the discussion was loose. What is justice? Who has the power? It was incredibly inspiring!

  • What former students say

Before Sund , I'd had a year off and was about to start a study program I was halfway motivated for. Luckily, I took the time for a year at Regnskoglinja, the time to find out what I care about and what I really want. I'm very happy about that.
