Torbjørn Kamfjord Eriksen - Jazzlinja
Jazz 2019/2020
For me, the year at Sund has been something completely different from what I thought it would be.
I went to Sund to practice, a lot. I would just sit and jazz day in and day out. Other than that, I was going to eat and sleep. That was my plan and my expectations. It wasn't that I didn't get to play music, but the year was going to be so much more than just that. "The folk high school year was the best year of my life," they say. I don't know if I dare say that, but I learned things I'll never forget, which have absolutely nothing to do with music. Tolerance towards different people, patience and understanding. I've confirmed who I am and my values. Not only in others, but also in myself.
The year at sund has many functions. For me, the year was mostly about musical development, but fortunately I got everything else as a kind of bonus. For other students it can be the opposite. That academics are not so important, but human development is at the center and the school facilitates that it should be easy not to know anyone from before, it should be easy to move straight from home, it should be easy to be there to find yourself. And that's what Sund folk high school has achieved. I'm only left with memories that are worth having, and friends that I'm sure will follow me for the rest of my life. And for that, I want to thank Sund folk high school .
